Jeff and fellow WD readers I have finally figured out the CC solution to a better CC. The liberal left that controls our life at the moment would like to hire the LWV to be teachers,give everyone homeless person money for drugs, dig a well, get an RV and park it in Jims lot for 40k a year, no jails, only do business with democratic businesses ,and build all the homes for the not so fortunate, than give all the land back to the Tribe. I can’t see where anyone can deny that this is what they propose. Is their any other choice than JAKE?

The LWV is coming in through the back door of civic education by pushing the newer version called, Action Civics. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Action_civics

Action civics is a modern and alternative form of civics education in the United States.

Critics of the system argue that Action Civics aims “to turn children into activists” and inappropriately promotes a “communitarian view that issues facing society are best dealt with through group action, by people joining hands and working together rather than through the political process.”

Students are being pushed to go out and carry signs and protest (as is being done in our community) for a single cause BEFORE infusing them with basic knowledge about government, and understanding of the merits (as well as the shortcomings) of American democracy.

IMO, LWV, is using Action Civics to create young backers for THEIR particular agenda, not educate students into a complete picture of our community government and how it is run.

We need to bring back Civics Classes based on American democracy and have it taught by teachers who do not bend the teachings to their personal view.

The Fourteenth Amendment needs to be taught before any student has to bow down to any Land Acknowledgments

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and SUBJECT TO THE JURISDICTION thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; NOR DENY TO ANY PERSON WITHIN ITS JURISDICTION the equal protection of the laws.

Section 2

Representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each State, excluding Indians not taxed.

“Action Civics” Replaces Citizenship with Partisanship This article is from 2021. It is creeping in as we speak.

State lawmakers must protect education from activism.

Advocates of “Action Civics” are poised to press a novel practice on every state education system in the Union. Bills mandating Action civics will soon be introduced in state legislatures across the country; it is already required in Massachusetts and Illinois. The Biden administration is likely to support that effort with federal carrots and sticks, using the model of the Obama administration’s support for Common Core.

Unfortunately, widespread adoption of Action Civics will definitively politicize an already politically tainted K-12 educational system, irrevocably cementing the partisan Left’s hold upon our culture. Action civics amounts to school-sponsored indoctrination and political action in support of progressive policy positions. It must be energetically opposed by all who value authentic liberal education.

There is an important distinction to be drawn between responsible civic action on the one hand and what Lincoln called “mobocratic” rule on the other. In the absence of informed and reflective respect for our fundamental rights and the constitutional framework that protects them, civic action risks descent into mobocracy. This helps explain why the right to free expression is endangered at this moment in our civic life.

THE LVW IS NOW A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN

The League of Women Voters may have started out in a practical role of protecting and expanding voting rights, but those days are drastically over.

No longer shy about its support of progressive policies, the League is charging full steam ahead to some sort of socialist utopia—all while claiming to want to protect democracy.

According to influencewatch.org, the League maintains two legal entities to carry out its missions, the League of Women Voters of the United States and the League of Women Voters Education Fund. These two entities receive significant funding from progressive mega-donors.

A few of the progressive mega-donors include:

• George Soros’s Foundation to Promote Open Society

• The New York State United Teachers government worker labor union

• The Tides Foundation
